Common Ground

Whatever the question, love is the answer...

The dictionary says, ecology is the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings. Human ecology is the study of the interaction of people with their environment. Ecological work is about protecting our physical environment.

I believe spiritual ecology is about synchronizing heart and mind toward the commonality of greening the planet with greening our inner environment.

How is our inner landscape? Are we pruning – clearing out old core beliefs and replacing them with deeper understandings of who we really are? Are we nurturing – practicing compassion with ourselves and others, especially those who push our buttons the most? Are we watering – allowing ourselves to fully experience joy and pain – Are we sowing – planting intention that opens us to potential and possibilities?

Simply, spiritual ecology is about how our inner work is reflected in how we treat each other and the earth. During this the sprouting month of March, I will share readings, quotes, poems and talk about how our spiritual growth mirrors the survival of our beloved planet. Join me Tuesdays and Thursday mornings at 7 AM, on the Common Ground prayer call for this inspiring exploration.
