Common Ground

Whatever the question, love is the answer...

On this wintry morning, snow invites us inward. Reflection is
supported by the stillness of grey sky and covered earth.

Today, I contemplate forgiveness. This month’s Common Ground theme is love. Forgiveness makes love possible as we choose to turn from the intensity of holding hurt, to the heroic act of letting go. Particularly, when we feel justified, we can breathe in spaciousness, and as The Course In Miracles talks about, we respond to the hurtful words or actions of our brother or sister, as if their actions are a cry for love. We can embody love through all circumstance. Of course, not to ignore healthy boundaries and appropriate action according to need. Boundaries and action of necessity

can also come from the deep seat of forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the end of the cycle of discord. It is a window into what we can become. As we enter the beginning stages of spiritual maturity, we get the privilege of modeling love through forgiveness.

I envision going on a new journey where we stop, open our luggage and throw out many of the things we thought we needed for travel. We look at the bag and realize, we have grown new abilities. We can manifest what we need as we go. No more luggage, no more holding onto righteousness, no need to keep a list of others transgressions, no need to condemn ourselves in any way. Letting go, letting go, letting go- In the emptiness - love comes.. and yes.

I believe like any muscle we strengthen, it gets to be our orientation with vigilance and intention. It has been one of my most challenging assignments this lifetime. And by golly, I think I've just about got it... at least for today!

Thank you Rhetta.
One of my life motto's has been . . . "Forgive everyone for everything all the time . . . starting with yourself."

Be human and feel the human feelings. Yes. But we can let go, and as you say, let go again.

It really is all good.
