Common Ground

Whatever the question, love is the answer...

Occupy Philadelphia, in fact the occupy movements throughout the country could use
some help right now.  It’s a special kind of help that people of faith alone can give.
I know people of many faiths who practice their beliefs and believe in
prayer.   I call on all of you now to pray for peaceful resolutions to the situation many of the Occupy movements are
experiencing.

It’s obvious to me that since they (the Occupy movements)
were not going away people decided to use them for their own reasons, not all
of which were bad.  But, I believe those
who only want negativity and strife need to be confronted.  I feel this is a situation where good people
must do something. And the best something those of faith can do is pray for
peace.  I’ve seen fb links that showed a “flash
mob” meditation where people gathered in a public place and meditated for 5
minutes or so; and another where there was a meditation at Occupy San
Francisco. Here in Philadelphia let us imagine our prayers
surrounding City Hall in the light of peace, and see the glow and aura of that
light spread out until it covers the entire city.

In any event, in light of the recent 11/11/11, full moon,
astrological events this could be a good way to channel some of that energy.

And since there are no accidents I must also point you to another peaceful initiative, Peace is
a Haiku Song website peace@muralarts.org  This is a joint project with Sonia Sanchez
and the Mural Arts Program.
