Common Ground

Whatever the question, love is the answer...

Dan Kleiman, our wonderful band leader, is gravely ill. He suffered a stroke last Thursday, shortly after finding out that he had Lymphoma. For those of you who do not regularly attend the Common Ground monthly gathering, Dan is the beaming face behind the piano, making glorious music, masterly leading the band.

I spent some time with Dan at the hospital last evening. I was not prepared for what I saw. He is not conscious and appears deeply in conversation about whether to stay on this plane or leave.

We who love Dan are all thinking of and praying for him in our own way. I'd like to suggest that we are vigilant during this time, that we send thoughts and prayers like a constant shower, so that his process takes place in the midst of our love and light.

Tomorrow evening at PSALM, the community is invited to gather and share our love for him through our words, our songs, our presence. We will be there from 7:30 to 10 pm. There will be a nourishment table and light fare is welcome. PSALM is the home of Jamey and Suyun Reilly. 5841 Overbrook Ave. (a block from 59th and City Line Ave.) 215 477-9985

You may also share your prayers, poems and well wishes at Dan's page,

It is the unfolding of the great mystery, nothing to be said or done, but that we stand at it's altar together.

I am so very saddened to hear of Dan's sudden illness and now his transition, as I know what a deep loss it is for all of you at Common Ground and for the wider community. We at Awakened Heart Spiritual Center have been so wonderfully blessed by Dan's presence and music both at the Michael Beckwith event and at the regular monthly celebrations at Common Ground. Dan was gracious to help out our music ministry from time to time whenever we asked. Our payers to all of you and especially to Rev. Rhetta who worked so closely with Dan and the other musicians to make such wonderful music.
Much love,
Dave

Thank you Neysa for that very difficult update. I know that many will be praying for Dan. Sorry to hear that your leg is broken. Do what you need to take care of yourself.

Blessings

Sadly, there is news about Dan. This comes from Kenny Ulansey through Facebook:

Subject: News about Dan

"While facebook doesn't seem the appropriate way, I wanted to let you know that
the surgeon today told Dan's family and Phyllis that the stroke was caused by "a
shower of clots" and that the damage to his brain was too great to sustain a
meaningful life. With a very heavy heart, I tell you that he most likely won't
survive the night. Please keep the family and Phyllis in your thoughts... we'll
all be needing each others' support in the coming weeks."

Thanks, Rhetta, for your posting. I'll try to make it to tomorrow night's gathering at PSALM, but I have a broken leg and have much trouble getting around.

Blessings to All at Common Ground.
Neysa
