Noel Albertson Anne Rice and the Future of Common Ground

My wife Carolyn has been deeply moved by the books of Anne Rice, the hugely popular author of many vampire books including the best-seller series of books called the Vampire Chronicles. Her books are deeply spiritual and at the same time openly "heretical" (in the eyes of the institutional church). So it was with some surprise that a few years back, Anne Rice announced that she had converted to christianity.

Recently, she came out with another surprise announcement: "I quit Christianity… Continue

Adrianus Van Munster Truly, it's all about you

Dear Spirit,

How many weeks, days, eh ... seconds ago did you blame the way you feel to the behavior of your partner, your colleague, your boss, or your child? If only they would be more considerate! If only

Scott Robinson - MANDALA Tipping Point

Since I quit my job, I have found it increasingly harder to judge anybody. I’ve been on this trajectory for a long time, but the extra time for prayer and spiritual exercise since walking away from teaching last spring has accelerated the process. As I’ve grown older, I have become more compassionate. Anyone who knew me when I was younger knows that this was not always the case; as a callow youth I was inordinately self-righteous, quick to judge and to take sides, incredibly slow to repent, alw… Continue

Ernie Oktay Laughter Yoga Circle Meetings/Everyone is welcomed.

Greetings everyone.
Laughter Yoga is a concept that was developed in Mumbai India by a physician named Dr. Madan Kataria who created the very first Laughter Club as a means to a joyful exercise system combined with a Yogic breathing technique called Hasya Yoga.
Dr.Kataria says..." Now days everyone in Mumbai is so caught up in their daily routine that ...he hardly sees anyone laughing." He adds ... "Everyone is so serious ."
After extensive scientific research on laughter or lack

Adrianus Van Munster Ease into the now; the gab between thoughts

Dear Spirit,

All that you would ever want is available to you right Now. We may be convinced that the human experience is about reaching a certain end-goal, such as love, wealth, health, or enlightenment. This widely accepted, but highly erroneous belief is the cause of much unnecessary suffering. Life is about being in the now and enjoying the process... After

Scott Robinson - MANDALA Inukshuks

A friend of mine had a very negative view of marriage. The way she saw it, people treated it too much like a finish line--the ceremony completed, they were “done.” Of course, anyone who has been married for any length of time knows this to be far from true, but the divorce rate being what it is, my friend may have been on to something. People know how to get married, but often don’t give the same attention to making a life together. If people put as much thought into being married as they did in… Continue

Adrianus Van Munster Are you aware of a different reality?

Right now, take a deep breath and--just for 30 seconds--create a moment of stillness.

In the depth of stillness, you will acquire the full power of the mind and find answers to all life defining questions. Stillness doesn’t necessarily refer to the absence of noise; it refers to the absence of thought. It is in that state of mind when we experience nirvana.Become still, and remain aware of this stillness even when we are surrounded by drama; another reality surrounds the craziness.

Emily Bradley Ardmore Salon - what a beautiful, creative, wacky, fun experience

When we all agreed to use the Star+Gate cards (something like Tarot cards) at the June salon, we had no idea what was in store for us. Each person chose a topic or life issue to explore for clarity. We had no idea how "blindly" choosing two cards would result in insight. But wow! I was touched by the relevant way that people got involved without judging to help each other.

A gentle presence arose in the space as people stepped forward to work and play with their questions. Participant… Continue

Adrianus Van Munster Drama and Mindful Leadership

The essence of Mindful Leadership has nothing to do with forcing or manipulating others to do what we want them to do. On the contrary, Mindful Leadership is firmly rooted in joyfully giving voice to one's divine song and in the encouragement of others to dance to the rhythm of their own innate music. Drama is the tension between people who want to control each other in order to maintain a dualistic and ego-based beliefsystem that needs others to define and value the image in the mirror.

Scott Robinson - MANDALA The Butterfly House

The world you see has nothing to do with reality. It is of your own making, and it does not exist. A Course in Miracles, Lesson 14 The butterflies no longer flock to my daughter. When Clare was four, her daycare center hatched some butterflies in a small screen tent. On the day they released them, I came to pick Clare up on the playground and saw her standing very still with an ear-to-ear grin and a half-dozen butterflies all over herself. “They just went to her,” her teachers said. The… Continue
