- About Me
- I am a man in one the most exciting and frightening times of my life. I'd say it's crunch time, time to knuckle into the mud and sun of life and start choosing, REALLY choosing, who I wanna be and where I am going. Transition is the simple word for it. I love that this time of uncertainty in the economy and workplace is the catalyst for all of this. I see it all as a blessing.
More of who I am: One who's discovered his deep love for people, for human beings. I've been told I'm a healer. I am becoming the leader that I am inside. I have words and visions to share and a calling to inspire people to create that which sets them aflame.
I am a musician (percussionist/drummer), poet, carpenter, business owner, and salsa dancer. I am one who's vision sees through the inauthenticities of people and dwells on their greatness and beauty. I love good food, laughter, humor, and playfulness. Much can be said better with the poem below.
May kindness and joy be the knock upon your door, and may love and good fortune haunt you like a warm sun.
New Vision
I’ve arrived
a day of appointments and schedules
lists clicking off one by one
like streetlights in a morning sun
I am here
perched, suspended
along an avenue of hard angles
dangled amidst the mirrors
of a downtown squeeze
the sprawling rows of want vs. need
smiling at me through window panes
I look across coffee shop table tops,
brown lilies upon a concrete lake
with faces for blossoms,
and I see one flower pushing the pen also
glancing nervously when the flow
curves off the page.
We are dancers in the dark alleys
of lined pages, Tango Mad Children
tangled in a breeze of discontent
swirling in a new direction
I am ever onward
a stretch of fabric against
the flood of rough existence.
Ever onward
a smooth strip of silk
slipping through rocks and shards
of discovery.
And this life
it is less like a direction
than a ricochet, a random tap
against the stained glass of divinity
and I’m hoping
that colored translucence
bleeds, blends, rubs into my
palms, wets me with the sun’s vision.
If not, I am left to push onward
ever a professional wanderer
one note of a life’s calling.
Yet perhaps, with such notes
I might begin a song, a drone,
a chant, watching as these feet
tap aimless
to the melody.
And so I am calling a force
upon myself, pulling up
a surge of creation.
I am drawing in and drawing out,
spinning like clay in the Sculptor’s hands.
I am warming into a broad
lyric, a congregation of
sound, a dance of color.
I am scared breathless
ears shimmering with possibility
heart piping with dreams
thicker than denial
more constant than fear
and as cool as hope sprung from a lover’s eye.
I am a shattered dream
scattered to the four corners
mingling with all the lights of the world
singing a crystal pitch through
sunsets, streetlights, and fireflies.
I am
undeniable
pure creator fire!

Listen, we're doing an earth theme in April and want to have 3 or 4 drummers playing at different points throughout the program. Are you around and could you make maybe one rehearsal, the Tues before SS?
