Occupy Philadelphia

Occupy Philadelphia, in fact the occupy movements throughout the country could use some help right now.  It’s a special kind of help that people of faith alone can give. I know people of many faiths who practice their beliefs and believe inprayer.   I call on all of you now to pray for peaceful resolutions to the situation many of the Occupy movements areexperiencing. It’s obvious to me that since they (the Occupy movements) were not going away people decided to use them for their own reasons,…See More

"Beautiful story. It reminded me of a land purchase I made years ago, to build a house on. The lots were wooded. I had many to choose from. Trees would have to be destroyed. I looked at nearly 50 available lots until I found one with a…"

NARC

This is a copy of an essay I wrote almost a dozen years ago for a writing class I took at Penn.  Remember where you see dates, I didn't update anything, I just re-copied it.  N.A.R.C.  For the last three years something very interesting has been going on in Philadelphia,PA.  Something ethnic, somethingspiritual, something that deserves a little more attention than its been getting. That something is the growth of the National African Religion Congress.  NARC is an organization concerned with…See More

The Tree and Me

Today something happened that would have gone totally unacknowledged if I were not now blogging.About mid-morning I noticed the tree trimmers sent out by PECO to clear branches from their wires were in front of my house. The tree across the street from me is just perfect, about 40-50 feet tall. I’m sure at least 4-5cars parked end to end could be sheltered from the rain under this tree.  I often watch birds flying in and out and frombranch to branch in that tree.  It’s my focus when I practice…See More

Here We Go

Greetings, Today I start blogging. I titled this Here We Go because I don't feel as though I'm alone on this journey. I do however live alone and sometimes things come to me that I find not just interesting but helpful in living everyday in a healthy spiritual way. Sometimes I share with friends who seem interested in the topics that come up but often these things come at times when it's not practical, possible, or even polite to call someone to share.  Usually I forget all or part of these…See More
