Next Spirit Dancing Event!! July 18th, 2009 from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm Summit Presbyterian Church, 6757 Greene St. Mt Airy, PA
Join us in the joy of dance, the freedom of soul expression and the rejuvenation of body, mind and spirit! Awakening, renewing, unearthing, enlivening. . . Connect with your core, anchor into the earth and open to the universal energies, while expanding personal range of motion and discovering authentic expression within community.
Set in sacred and safe containment, this event provides an opportunity for personal and collaborative community exploration of vibrant aliveness, interconnection and expression of spirituality through movement, yoga, vocalization, rhythm and intention. There will be non-denominational altars honoring the elements and the directions so feel free to bring something of personal significance to add.
Sliding scale $10-25 (scholarships available - no one will be turned away).
**This is a trial run of Spirit Dancing to see if we have a solid enough interest to cover the costs of running it consecutively. We are hoping to have a group who is willing to commit to one session a month for five months.
*An RSVP is not required, but we'd absolutely love to know if you're planning on being there. You can indicate it on the right side of this page. *If you are interested in being a part of Spirit Dancing and simply can not make this date, join the Spirit Dancing group on the website and let us know!
Sorry I missed this opportunity! I go to the jersey shore
for most weekends in the height of the summer...
certainly if I am home for any weekends or if there are
weeknight events I will always enthusiastically attend :) Love!
Hey Carolyn,
Nice to hear from you. The event was wonderful. It was a smaller group than the first Spirit Dancing but still profound and blessed. I am not sure if there's air conditioning. It seems not to be. Some people felt a bit stuffy, but we were able to open the doors and that helped alot. In the future, we could also bring fans if that is a concern for you and possibly for others. Look forward to dancing with you soon. Namaste. Lara
Lara...your radiant light and open loving
heart expands the space/form
in which we join and commune;
with your guidance you facilitate our
letting go into the expression of our spirit.
I am grateful for Spirit Dancing with you anywhere in
any space!
Hi Laura! So glad the event was well attended - wish I could have been there. Count me in on future Spirit Dancing events. Let me know when you have a date!
Thank You to all who came out for the rebirthing of Spirit Dancing yesterday. . . we had a fabulous turnout!! Thank yYou to those of you who expressed interest and were unable to attend! Thank You to the incredible musicians who provided a beautiful soundscape for the unfolding dance. Spirit Dancing is an event for the community, so please feel free to provide feedback about what you liked, didn't like, would like to experience more of etc. There are many more depths that I feel the event is meant to and can go to, including more exploration and experience of spirituality, individual and community reverence, ceremonial and ecstatic dance, sound and interaction. This is simply the beginning, add your thoughts to help guide and navigate the continual unfolding.
I am openning a discussion above!!! Namaste and Thank You for all the joyous light, spirit and expression you each are and bring!!!
Lara, I really tried to get there today, but Mapquest (via route 309 S from the turnpike) kept ending me at some obscure location. Then I asked for directions from passersby & I ended up in Germantown on Germantown pike! For some reason Mapquest doesn't pull up Greene Ave??? I recognized Phil Roy's street though. Sad... his dog Travis just died.
