Equanimity - Dynamic Balance

At the Equinox:

-- Earth's axis isn't tilted toward or away from the sun.

  -- The Equator is centered,

-- And night and day become about equal.

The Equinox is a universal tipping point - a powerful time for exploring personal and spiritual equanimity.

No matter what your spiritual or religious beliefs, we're all a part of the the Earth's turning toward Spring in our hemisphere. Come unleash our common creative impulse to grow and transform.

Special Guest:  Dr. Ashok Gangadean, PhD

Dr. Gangadean has focused over the past thirty–five years on tapping and clarifying the deeper common ground between diverse cultural, religious and ideological worlds. In his many published essays and public lectures he has attempted to demonstrate that human reason is essentially global, dialogical, holistic and intercultural. In his books he has attempted to demonstrate that there is a fundamental Logos or Universal Grammar underlying all cultures, religions, philosophies and ideologies.

Community Connection

After the event, we’ll "break bread" together in a light meal provided by Common Ground.

Our Children

While the Adults are celebrating, the children will participate in their own experiential learning around the theme of the day. All 5-12 year olds are welcome (at this time, the program cannot accommodate children under 5). It's more than daycare, and it's universal, not from any one particular religious tradition. The primary text of the program is “The Family Virtues Guide” – covering 52 virtues (such as courage, honest, hope, love) geared towards kids and families. This text is part of the Family Virtues Project.  The cost is $10 per family, payable at the beginning of each program. Scholarships are available.

Happy Spring.  I will be out of town enjoying preseason beach time in Myrtle Beach and Charleston.
