Love of Food. Persistence. Life with all its ups and downs. Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Stanley Tucci...what a cast and what a movie! Meryl Streep's depiction of the infamous chef Julia Childs is spot-on and a joy to behold. The film takes us through the difficulties of being an American in Paris and shows us Julia, finally finding her passion. Stanley Tucci portrays her devoted husband; their relationship on screen is refreshingly credible and loving. Meanwhile, on a different life plane, we meet Julie (Amy Adams), a frustrated social services agent, who, inspired by Julia's recipes and life story, sets out to make something of her own life, with a decidedly modern twist. Come enjoy this film with us and talk of mentors, food, books, determination and your own passions in life...immediately following the film in our circle discussion.
