What do you get when you mix writings of naturalist John Muir, the true story of Nobel Prize winner Wangari Maathai, and a bit of Thoreau & Hemmingway with ensemble director & playwright Steven Dennis, six energetic young actors, and a percussionist? BOXING WITH GAIA or Love Your Mother, an original play suitable for the whole family, developed in ensemble-theatre style that whisks the audience on a playful and, at times, touching romp that includes chasing bears, planting a billion trees, and a battle of wills between a cranky old man and a loon.
